Hull Creative Group Wins The RX Club Show Award
of Excellence For Ingenuity and Creativity in Healthcare Advertising
Boston, MA September 30, 2002 –
Hull Creative Group, a design and strategy firm, won the prestigious
Rx Club Show Award of Excellence for an advertising campaign
developed for St. Vincent’s Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Now in its 16th year, the RX Club Show competition is an independent
forum where original work developed for the healthcare industry
ranging from advertisements to packaging to multi media, is
judged for its creativity and appeal. “This is a unique
competition for the healthcare community as submissions are
evaluated for elements of creative excellence including concept,
typography, visuals, balance and execution, rather than return
on investment,” said Ina Kramer, President, The RX Club.
Hull Creative Group was selected from 2,195 entries in 72
different categories of which 425 were named winners. The
425 winners will compete for the RX Club Show Gold and Silver
Awards at a gala ceremony that will take place on February
6, 2003 in New York City.
The St. Vincent’s Comprehensive Cancer Center advertising
campaign was built around the quality of life theme, and consists
of a series of advertisements, each featuring a black and
white photograph of two people relating in a personal way.
Copy below emphasizes St. Vincent’s role in helping
patients get on with their lives while undergoing the best
non-invasive surgical treatment for cancer. Designed with
clean, simple fonts, inviting text and powerful yet positive
images, the advertisements were created to elicit an emotional
response from the potential client while simultaneously providing
information about St. Vincent’s state of the art cancer
treatments.
“Feedback has shown that the St. Vincent’s advertising
campaign has exceeded client expectations by continuing to
generate significant increases in patient call volume,”

equally gratifying to know that the RX Club Show, a very targeted,
competitive contest, has given us an Award of Excellence for
the beauty and creativity these ads.”
