Hull Creative Group Adds to its Awards Collection
Boston, MA August 22, 2001 – Hull
Creative Group, a strategic marketing communications firm
with expertise in marketing and business planning, branding
and creative design for high technology, publishing, non-profit
organizations and other industries, announced that it has
been awarded a prestigious American Graphics Design award
for its Pearson Custom Publishing direct mail campaign.
Now in its 25th year, the competition received
more than 10,000 entries of which fewer than 1,000 were cited
for creative excellence. Pearson Publishings campaign
was targeted to education professionals seeking to order customized
textbooks online. Color-coded booklets corresponding to 11
disciplines were created to be inserted into a die-cut pocket
brochure. This unique approach gave Pearson Publishing the
ability to efficiently customize a high-end mailer with less-expensively
produced booklets in order to reach audiences with specific
areas of interest.
This campaign posed a number of interesting
challenges in that it had to reach audiences across many disciplines,
said Caryl Hull, founder and principal of the Hull Creative
Group. The campaign also had to meet an aggressive production
schedule with a limited budget. The creation of a high-level
piece explaining the ordering process combined with customized
inserts was an ideal solution.
Hull Creative Group has received numerous awards
for creative excellence including a Hatch Award, several Creativity
Awards for work done on behalf of client MRO Software, and
multiple American Graphic Design Awards. Last year, Hull was
a MIMC Award finalist for the Boston Harbor Islands Web site
