Hull Creative Group Art Director Instrumental in Planning American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Sponsor Patron Night 2004

Boston, MA  June 11, 2004 – The style, glitz and glamour of one of the country’s most popular destinations emerged in the AIGA Las Vegas Lounge, presented by AIGA Boston’s Sponsor Patron Night. Set against the backdrop of Boston’s Cyclorama (signature building of the Boston Center for the Performing Arts), this festive event provided networking opportunities between designers and showcased the new products, vendors, technologies and services related to the graphic design field.

Carolyn Colonna, Art Director of Hull Creative Group, a design and marketing firm, was instrumental in developing the Las Vegas Lounge theme for this year’s Sponsor Patron Night that featured Vegas-inspired music and celebrity impersonators, kitschy appetizers and cocktails, a silent auction to benefit Youth Design Boston and more than 20 exhibitor booths, all following the Vegas lounge theme.

Putting her sophisticated design sensibility to good use, Colonna was key in the development and execution of the event’s promotional materials. From invitation and signage to Web site and exhibition kits, each coordinated component shouted the joys of Las Vegas with vibrant colors, a martini glass, twinkling star motifs and 1950s inspired fonts.

“It was really fun to step out of the corporate environment and work with other design professionals on an event that celebrates and supports the design community and those industries we work with on a daily basis,” said Colonna. “The evening was a fabulous success on all levels — as a fundraiser, a networking social, and as a demonstration of the industry’s latest trends.”

AIGA is the oldest and largest membership association for professionals engaged in the discipline, practice and culture of designing. Founded in 1914, the association now represents more than 16,000 designers through national activities and local programs developed by 47 chapters and more than 150 student groups.
