The
Hull Creative Group Team
The diverse, multi-functional talents of our
creative team are our greatest asset. Intelligence, originality
and a passion to create the best solution possible –
traits found in each of the key players listed below –
help to make Hull Creative Group a full service agency with
a dynamic edge.
Caryl
H. Hull, Founder and Principal
She has
the talents of an artist, the skills of an entrepreneur. Since
founding Hull Creative Group 15 years ago, Caryl has spanned
both the creative and business sides of marketing communications,
spearheading and implementing customer-driven strategies for
a wide range of established and emerging organizations. Her
success in the brand identity arena is the outgrowth of an
ongoing commitment to the guiding principles of the company
— collaboration, innovation, and results. Principles
that when in the right hands, have the power to dramatically
unleash a company’s growth potential.
Under Caryl’s direction, Hull Creative Group has helped
reposition established corporations at a point of growth and
change — MRO Software (e-Business), Houghton Mifflin
(publishing) and St. Vincent’s Hospital, New York (health
care). A member of TEC, a national group of CEOs exploring
leadership issues and possibilities, Caryl has authored and
published articles for various marketing trade journals. She
continues to stay current with the arts community having served
on the board of directors for Brookline Art Center, exhibited
at the Piano Factory in Boston’s South End, and juried
the Southborough Fine Arts competition. When she needs to
recharge her creative battery, Caryl can be found soaking
up new talent in Boston’s gallery district or dreaming
up ideas for new results-oriented businesses, which she encourages
others to develop and operate!

Carolyn
Colonna, Art Director
Carolyn is obsessed with quality. Defining it. Creating it.
Maintaining it. As the guiding force behind Hull Creative
Group's creative direction, she has led our firm to win 36
awards, a nearly unprecedented number for a firm its size.
Her design sensibility is sophisticated and intelligent. Her
focus on details, relentless.
During her seven-year tenure as Graphic Designer, Senior Graphic
Designer, and Art Director, Carolyn has earned over twenty-five
awards as creative lead in developing quantifiably successful
print and multimedia campaigns. Recent work for major software
clients garnered League of Communications Professionals Vision
Awards for MRO Software and Geac Corporation annual reports;
American Graphic Design Awards for MRO Software annual report,
white paper and invitation; and Creativity 33 Award for Inmagic
Content Server logo. Carolyn's work has appeared in publications
such as How Magazine and Graphic Design USA, and has been
recognized by Unisource and Fox River Papers.
Carolyn is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Artists
(AIGA) Boston Chapter, currently volunteering her impeccable
organizational talents and fabulously good taste to the AIGA's
Sponsor/Patron Night Committee.

Lauren
D. Gill, Director of Business Strategy
Lauren
is all about results. She begins by drawing upon her expertise
— market analysis and positioning, web strategies, brand
development, strategic business planning, and messaging. Next,
she partners with clients on their foundational business planning
and market development strategies ensuring that marketing
and sales initiatives work triple time. Building strong pathways
to customers. Creating brand equity. Contributing to lasting
revenue and profit growth. And then come the results. Clients
may be surprised, but not us. With her extensive business
strategy experience earned in senior management roles at technology
and media companies, Lauren brings an uncommon interdisciplinary
perspective to even the most challenging assignments.

Karen
Conner, Director of Public Relations
How
to build a successful public relations campaign? Creativity.
Thoughtfulness. A deep understanding of the client’s
industry. Then with vision and skill, meld these elements
together to construct a multi-tiered strategy that consistently
drives the brand home. With over twenty years experience developing
public relations programs that work wonders by raising visibility,
sales, and customer loyalty, Karen has elevated public relations
to become an integral component of Hull Creative Group’s
suite of solution-based marketing resources. Her unique blend
of communications expertise, media savvy and the love of a
good public relations challenge, have helped launch new products,
services and businesses. In one short year, Karen has provided
the public relations fuel necessary to catapult new independent
trade publisher, Justin, Charles & Co., from unknown entity
to solidly positioned contender in the publishing world.

Amy
Braddock Friedman, Senior Graphic Designer
A
joy to work with. A superior graphic designer. A perfectionist.
For Amy, it’s all about the client. Collaborating with
them to create the best solutions possible. Presenting them
with a process and product nothing short of excellent. Her
work is versatile in its artistry, consistent in its quality.
Amy's current ad campaign for St. Vincent's Comprehensive
Cancer Center in New York has generated a 210% ROI, far exceeding
the client's expectations. The campaign has also garnered
three awards for ingenuity and creativity in health care advertising
- the Aster Award, Rx Club Award and National Health Information
Award. Other awards include Creativity 33 award for Geac logo,
Geac corporate brochure and MRO Software corporate brochure;
and the Graphic Design USA Award for Dare Family Services
Annual Appeal, MRO Software white paper series, Boston Group
Web site and Hull Creative Group self promotion.

Peter
Baird, Web Specialist
Web Specialist Peter Baird is a
tech professional with the fine arts background to know what
works, and the computer skills to make it happen. An expert
in the production of interactive Web-based resources including
Web site construction and flash-based animations, Peter has
transformed ideas to reality for numerous Hull Creative Group
clients seeking successful new and upgraded Web programs,
such as Inmagic Inc. and Boston Harbor Islands. Although he
has been building Web sites professionally for the past four
years, Peter actually began experimenting with Web site development
and small applications in 1996. His creative approach to Web
site construction has led him to projects for Boston University’s
School of Management, a major political campaign, and the
Right Angle Group. When not immersed in Web development, Peter
can be found balancing left brain/right brain activities —
pursuing an advanced degree in Interactive Digital Media,
or painting in his studio.
